the beginning

Happy super Friday! I won't have too many more of these... alas?

This is the beginning. The beginning of my blog. Talking to Selina at work today, she suggested that I start a blog to keep people updated on my travels. Oddly enough, this had not occurred to me before.

Today I handed in my formal letter of resignation at work. After I had a rather awkward conversation with the lab manager... and by awkard, I don't mean good. [and by saying that, I will probably be a little more selective about who I alert to this blog]
Anyway, I was happy to hand it in. Things are getting kind of tense around here, and I think I have picked a pretty optimal time to jump ship.

Tomorrow I'm going to go buy my tickets. I hope it all works out exactly [EXACTLY] the way I want it to... but it won't, and that's okay too. So long as I don't get too screwed. Well, and really, I don't have much of an exact plan, so it would be hard for any plan to follow it. So yeah, the plan is, so far: Jordan for 7-10 days (Aug 27-Sep 5), Egypt for 10 days (Sep 5-15), and Greece for 3 weeks (Sep 16-Oct 8). Then the ashram in India from Oct 10-Nov 6, after which I will turn 29 (Nov 7).

And then?

Then some more of India... India until Sri Lanka, whenever that may be (January, February, March?). Who knows from there. That feels quite far away... almost everything feels far away right now.

Prior to Jordan I am going to Toronto, Ottawa and then Montreal for all of August. Hopefully, I won't be overstaying my welcome at anyone's home, but probably I will. Oh well.
